About Lotta
Lotta Blokker was born in Amsterdam in 1980. At nineteen years of age she moved to Italy, where she embarked on a three-year course of draughtsmanship and sculpture at the Florence Academy of Art.
A gifted student, she was awarded a scholarship in the course of her first year. In her second year she acquired a position as a teaching assistant. By the time of her graduation, she was teaching at the academy for two days a week. After graduation she carried on teaching there for another three years.
At the age of 25, Lotta Blokker returned to the Netherlands and opened her own studio in Amsterdam’s city centre. Numerous private collections in Europe and the United States contain work by her. She exhibits her sculptures in museums and galleries around the world.
